The players place the stack of 10 cards (which is also called the "Ligretto pack") face down up on the table and between 3-5 cards (depending on the number of players) face up in a row in the middle of the table. The rest of the cards remain in the hand. The game can start after shouting "Ligretto". The players will create piles of cards from 1 to 10 in the middle of the table in the various colors. The players will only be able to play the cards in their hand, from the top of the stack of cards, in sets of 3. The game becomes frenetic, when simultaneously all the players make the same moves. As the cards in the middle of the table run out, you will need to place another card in their place from the "Ligretto Pack". If no card from the discard pile from the combination of 3 matches, the respective pack can be reshuffled. The round continues with new cards, the players must be very careful, because the others will be able to contribute to the pile of any player in the middle of the table, and you have to be agile to finish your books. This adds to the fun of the game, because things happen so quickly that you can never be sure if you have an advantage or not.
